With the exhibition dates coming up really soon, I have been sketching my ideas in the studio, out walking, at the kitchen table, even waiting in the car for my turn to have my Covid vaccine. Now having filled loads of sketchbooks it's time to paint and pot. I have made a series of bowls, vases and pots which I will cover with birds I see daily on my walks. Oil painted Goldfinch, acrylic and mixed media and slip painted on earthenware pot unfired.

I decided to take the @strada_easel challenge. 1 painting from life (no photos) everyday of January 2021. Seeing as I paint most days, I really didn't think this would be too hard - I was wrong!!! I wake up in a sort of panic thinking 'what on earth am I going to paint today'! Also it's January and it's cold out there!, and we are in Lockdown, so no driving to a nice view and sitting in the car painting the Landscape. So I've been carrying my little pochade box on dog walks and painting as I go - hence, the quick small oil paintings.

Days 1 - 7

Looking forward now, after what seems the strangest Christmas; short days and no parties or entertaining to fill the long nights. Plus not having spent much time in the studio during December, I decided it was time to spruce up my paintings with new frames in the hope that in the Spring I will be able hold an exhibition? Richard (my husband) has been brilliant helping with the framing, whilst I try to update my website, it now has a shop!
