At this time of lockdown, I can stand in the garden and paint the chickens, only problem is they all want to stand around my feet pecking my wellies, so I had to stand outside their pen and wait for them to get bored with me standing there, to get on and do what chickens do! So I could do some quick small pleinair oilpainted sketches.

So in this world of lockdown I am working from sketches and photos as Pleinair painting is probably banned, we are only supposed to go out once a day for exercise and I guess painting is not classed as so? So while I am out walking the dogs I do quick sketches. The cherry blossom is just coming out and the creamy, greeny, yellowy flowers against the grey and blue sky are irresistable to paint.

My daughter is on the other side of the world. We speak often over FaceTime, its more poignant now it seems. Whilst speaking to her and family that she is staying with last week, I decided to start painting them. Alone together. Looking forward to seeing her in the flesh at the end of this world crisis.
